How these rankings are built
Teams are ordered strictly by the Signal Labs model's power rating — a team-strength
Elo replayed over every game back to 2018, then mean-reverted for the offseason, shown in
points versus an average NFL team. Projected wins is the sum of our per-game win
probabilities across the real 2026 schedule, so it already prices in strength of schedule.
Every team read is assembled from our own model fields plus each team's 2025 coach, starting
quarterback and record (stated as history, not a 2026 claim). This is a Phase-1 model on the
lower-stakes side of what we publish — analytical modeling, not a prediction of results, and
not betting advice.
